A staged renovation improving layout, flow and everyday living

Located in Casey, Canberra, this home renovation reworks a dated ex-rental property into a functional, modern family home. The original layout was disconnected and inefficient, with outdated finishes that limited the home’s potential.

By strategically shifting internal walls and reorienting the kitchen, the plan has been transformed into a cohesive open plan kitchen, dining and living area. These changes improve circulation, natural light and connection to surrounding spaces, while also enabling the addition of a dedicated home theatre room.

Designed as a staged renovation, the project allows the clients to upgrade their home over time. The completed works focus on the main living areas—delivering immediate improvements in functionality, comfort and usability.

Future stages will focus on the private zones, including a redesigned master bedroom and ensuite to further enhance comfort and long-term liveability.

This project highlights how a well-planned renovation in Canberra can significantly improve layout and lifestyle—unlocking value in an existing home without the need for a full knockdown rebuild.
